The Lost World of Maui Nui

The Lost World of Maui Nui is an animated exploration of the life of the islands that traces Maui's intricate history through its stages of transformation, erosion, and sea-level rise. This film is a mo’olelo pre-Ali’i. It integrates the Kumulipo, the Hawaiian mo’olelo of how the world formed, and celebrates the geological metamorphosis of these islands that laid the groundwork for the rich life and culture that continue to prosper.
