The Lost World of Maui Nui is an animated exploration of the life of the islands that traces Maui's intricate history through its stages of transformation, erosion, and sea-level rise. This film is a mo’olelo pre-Ali’i. It integrates the Kumulipo, the Hawaiian mo’olelo of how the world formed, and celebrates the geological metamorphosis of these islands that laid the groundwork for the rich life and culture that continue to prosper.

So in this process of creating this project, there were many ups and downs. For instance, right when we ready to go to the next step of our project I (Nainoa) would get close contact so that would set us back. But on the upside we got to learn many intresting things we never knew about Maui Nui. To be honest I did not even know what Maui Nui was until now. Like now we know that Maui Nui was actually Maui, Lanaʻi, Molokaʻi, and Kahoʻolawe combined as one. So the whole purpose of this project was to teach others the greatness of what Maui Nui and what is was before. But even though they are seperated they are still considered to still be one. So it was great experience for us and taught us how to work together more efficiently and to be honest we learned alot about each other also, because all I knew about my partner (Cody) was that he was a Freshman and he was way taller than me. So this sums up our project and we hope that you have enjoyed it and learned something new.
