Pangolin

Stanford climate scientists warn that the likely rate of change over the next century will be at least ten times quicker than any climate shift in the past 65 million years. This rapid pace of change will put immense stress on terrestrial ecosystems, and species will need to adapt to survive.  Humans will suffer heatstroke if in a wet-bulb temperature higher than 95 degrees Fahrenheit for more than six hours and that is the current climate situation of the heavily populated belt from the Persian Gulf through Pakistan and Northwest India with temperatures reaching 111 degrees Fahrenheit on the daily. So though my world is a bit extreme it could be our future one day.

Pangolin is a wearable device designed to protect people living in extreme climates. The device is designed for a future where the climate is unsafe for living creatures, where-in people terraform the Earth’s surface by creating domes in order to create and control habitable environments. Pangolin is a thermal body armor that responds to internal body temperature needs. Normal body temperature is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit so when the body starts to get hot and go off that mark the suit opens up for ventilation and shelters the skin with reflective material. In extreme cold, this of course depends on where in the world you are, the scales close to insulate and warm the body.
