Thesis:

COVID-19 has impacted Maui's economy and community in more ways than one. The Wrong Way To Spread Aloha reveals the effects COVID-19 has had on the lives of Maui residents. The film explores the transformation of Maui from the onset of the pandemic through depression, financial instability, and damages to this island that may never be undone.

Project Brief:

The pandemic has had a massive effect on Maui. It's easy to forget exactly how much and what we lost through it as many find their time in the pandemic rather blurry. The animation includes dark borders, sound effects, and depressing music. Our animation reflects what many witnessed in their daily lives as well as what may have not been seen. It displays what has happened to our community and we hope it will change the minds of those who believe this pandemic is just the flu.

Our project showcases different points in time throughout the COVID-19 pandemic on the island of Maui. Our storyboard was heavily influenced by our experiences and the experiences of others.
