The Solar Powered Retracting Roof is a roof which is built into a heat adapting solar pillar and extracts when heat reaches a certain temperature. Hawaii would be the perfect place to use these Solar Roofs since we live in such a warm climate. Basically everyone who lives here craves for some shade and/or coolness.

For a more specific location, I think that the Solar Powered Roof would best be placed at parks here on Maui. I myself know how hot it can get when watching sports, or just watching from the team benches. The Solar Powered Roof would be placed over both team's benches, along with all of the sideline, providing shade for the viewers which are watching the sports.

The Vantablack Water Heating System is a system that takes light/heat from the sun and heats water for everyday use. This will heat the water and give users heated water for the household.

This project will be like a solar water heater, but can use all the heat it absorbs and will be very useful in heating water efficiently. This will be efficient in that the Vantablack absorbs 99.965%. It will use this heat to heat these copper pipes and create hot water for a household.

The Transforming Bleacher Covers: a structure that contorts when heated creating shade for the users while resting on the bleachers. The users can use the bleacher to its full extent and make for a good experience.

The inspiration for this project was to allow the users to enjoy the outdoors and relax while also being comfortable on the bleachers in the shade. The basic technology behind the cover is that it is a shape memory alloy structure that when heated bends and creates shade over the bleachers. The innovation behind this project is the use of a rotating base allows the users to have a continuous amount of shade. The bleacher covers do not depend on the user’s interaction with it, rather the climate and the amount of sun during the day. This project was made for a wider audience and will hopefully be a useful structure for many inspiring those to go outside and engage the users in healthy and physical lifestyles.
